Research Engineer Position in Solar Technology Assessment - CLOSED

AD-CSP2014

The UAE Research Center for Renewable Energy Mapping and Assessment at Masdar institute is looking for a mechanical engineer with a background in solar thermal energy to join our solar resource and technology assessment team based in Masdar City, UAE. The successful candidate is expected to simulate the performance of CSP plants representing four different technologies (parabolic trough, power tower, CLFR, and dish-Stirling) and several different capacities in climatic conditions typical of the UAE. NREL’s SAM or similar modelling tools as well as design parameters of actual power plants in operation can be used in the simulation work. Depending on field data availability, we are also interested in the validation of the simulation tools based on actual CSP plants operating in conditions similar to those of the UAE. The tools will eventually be integrated in the infrastructure of the UAE Solar Atlas (http://atlas.masdar.ac.ae/).
